Description
This piece is a depiction of a lively street scene, full of feline reference! It is one of my personal favorites, and here is its poem.
The shadows lengthen in the alley,
Where the resturant resides,
Whose waitress, dear youg Sally,
Greets the box with open eyes.
"You can have your pick.", he grins,
"They're nearly eight weeks old.",
"How 'bout the one who's climbing out",
"He's lively and he's bold!",
While Sally ponders which to take,
The alley comes alive,
With cats of every model, every make,
Like bees from a hive.
They appear at dusk, on velvet paws,
When Joe delivers his fish,
And slyly prowl the cobbled street,
Seeking the delectable dish.
The Tigers throw their ball with glee,
As the young girl flirts with danger,
The 'wildcat' from apartment 223,
Has met a 'koolcat' stranger.
Late afternoon on the city street,
Offers us a visual treat,
When the cats begin to swarm.
