Well, you know how hard cats work. Those 18 hours of sleep can really wear a kitty out. This is great. Made me smile.

Artist's Description

This painting was inspired by all of the lovely ladies I know, who love cats and martinis. These playful felines have finished their workday and are gathered at the local dairy bar for some milk martinis, complete with a sardine garnish! They have goldfish to munch on and some CATastrophic tales to tell!
Here is my poem!

It's after five on Friday,
At the local dairy bar,
Ask these friendly felines,
How great their martinis are.
Fresh cream swirls in their glass,
And a sardine on a stick,
They've got goldfish crackers to munch,
And chicken wings to lick.
My kitties have worked hard all week,
Keeping the rodents at bay,
Now these clever felines,
Have some time to play.
Their purrs grow louder,
With every sip consumed,
Their stories grow more catastrophic,
When each one is resumed.
They speak of conquests made,
And the ones that got away,
Some tales so outlandish,
You know they slept that day.

About Gail Butler

Gail Butler

Self-taught, Gail's artistic interests and abilities have been part of who she is her entire life. Starting with crayons and a Poloroid camera, she has evolved into an artist with a unique style all her own. Having an 'Enjoy the moment, for it will all to soon be gone!' outlook comes through in her work. Her love of the natural world and its inhabitants fuels a desire to capture their beauty, while her sense of humor and appreciation of that which is magical and whimsical is also a driving force behind her art. Her portraits are renditions which capture the character of her chosen subjects, as she 'casts' them in roles which give a glimpse into their 'personality'. Her 'Wordplay' series showcases her love of a good pun, and her animal...
